Future Planning

Future Planning, often called Post-Secondary Planning or College and Career Planning, are activities in which students will be working closely with the counselors to help them them navigate their individual journey. Through the Naviance platform as well as a variety of other resources, all students will participate in activities designed to reinforce goal settingexploring post-secondary options and planning for the future over the course of their high school experience. Students will also have the opportunity to build a portfolio as required through PA Career Education and Work Standards.

Ms. Kaisinger is the counselor supporting students in their transition to post-secondary education/training, job training, the military and/or employment.  See below for updates on our Future Planning programming.

Announcing our Spring Future Planning Information Session Series for Parents & Guardians.

Good morning parents/guardians,

Below is a list of the upcoming parent/guardian events for the late winter/spring. Some are specific to grade levels while others are for everyone. Please look through to get an idea of what’s coming.

As an FYI – we’ve started welcoming our post-secondary partners for lunch visits, including colleges, tech/trade schools, and other alternative options. Last week we had a representative from Holy Family. Today we have Bloomsburg, and tomorrow CNA Culinary Institute. Next week are LaSalle, Bryn Athyn and Lincoln Tech. The full list through 5/22 appears below this message.

Several organizations offer virtual information sessions for parents/guardians regarding future planning. The College Board/Big Future, and PHEAA are two of the best. If you’re interested in more information, and/or have some time and want to join a discussion, check out these websites. You might find something that works better in your schedule.

Summer and enrichment programs help students at all grade levels build a resume. New opportunities are posted to grade level Teams regularly. I suggest that you encourage your students to check the opportunities posted on Teams at least weekly.
