I've been teaching Science at Franklin Towne for fifteen years and I am the head of the science department. I've always loved learning and over the years I have earned degrees in Philosophy and Physics from Rutgers University, Masters of Education and Instructional Technologies from Temple University, and a Masters of Education in Integrated Science from The University of Pennsylvania. In addition I have performed research at Drexel University, University of Pennsylvania, taken Engineering classes at Widener University and completed the Peak Learning institute teacher training program. As much as I love learning I love teaching and hope to pass this on to you.
Physical Science

High school physical science is a discipline that encompasses principles of basic chemistry, physics and mathematics. This subject provides students with the basic foundation to continue further study in biology, chemistry and physics.

Physical science affords students the opportunity not only to learn scientific principles and concepts, but also to apply the content knowledge through a variety of experiments and instrumentation not commonly used in other disciplines.

Engineering and Design
This project based class will utilize mechanical drafting, principles of physics, and problem-solving
techniques to recognize, plan and resolve fundamental engineering problems. Students will solve
engineering problems by utilizing process design techniques while becoming familiar with the
culture of engineering. Students are required to be self-motivated and to work well in both an
individual and team environment.
