Admissions Overview and Application

The application deadline for the January lottery for the class of 2024 is Monday, November 29th.  All applications received after November 26, 2018 will be eligible for any lottery held after the initial January 2020 lottery. All names not selected in the lottery will remain in the lottery system and will be eligible for all future lottery drawings.

Franklin Towne Charter High School complies with all State and Federal laws that govern admission policies and procedures.  FTCHS does not discriminate against any student, employee, or other person on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.  Admission criteria will not consider intellectual or athletic ability, aptitude, disability, race, creed, national origin, religion, or ancestry.  

Registration materials for new students are available from the office administrative staff.  Upon acceptance parents will need to provide the following information to the school in order to complete enrollment procedures:

  • Proof of Child's Age (example: birth certificate)
  • Copy of Immunization Records
  • Proof of Residency (this must be a utility bill or copy of your lease/mortgage statement; if living with someone else you must provide a notarized letter along with their proof of address)
  • Filled out and signed Parent Registration Statement
  • Filled out and signed Home Language Survey 
Applications are available for pick up during school hours or they may be downloaded from this web site. We do not mail applications.

Prospective applicants who require an application in a language other than English or Spanish may contact the school for translation services.  All requests should be directed to Susan McGeehan.  Franklin Towne will work with the Philadelphia School District Translation & Interpretation Center which provides translation of written documents, both District-wide, and documents specific to individual schools or students, free of charge. Every effort will be made to accommodate any translation request in any language.

McKinney/Vento Act

In accordance with federal and state guidelines under the McKinney/Vento Act, Franklin Towne Charter Schools are committed to removing barriers to education that face students experiencing homelessness. 


  • Do the members of your household lack a permanent address?
  • Are you staying together in a shelter, hotel, or other temporary housing arrangement?
  • Have you moved in with another family (doubled up) due to a lack of housing?
  • Does your family relocate on a seasonal basis?
  • Are any children living with you who have chosen to leave their prior family or household?


If you believe children in your household meet these descriptions, please contact your childs counselor.
