My name is Gina Marie Tortis and I am the Vocational School Counselor here at Franklin Towne Charter High School. I grew up in the Port Richmond area of Philadelphia and I attended Little Flower High School for Girls. After graduation, I attended Holy Family University in the Northeast section of the city where I received my bachelors degree in Psychology. I then went on to receive my master's degree in counseling and psychology from Holy Family as well. I also posses a school counselor certification in elementary and secondary education. I recently interned as a school counselor in the Philadelphia school district at the elementary level, and most recently, last spring I had the opportunity to intern here at Franklin Towne in the guidance department which was a wonderful experience.
I am looking forward to working in the vocational department here at Franklin Towne. I am passionate about motivating, encouraging, and empowering all of my students. I look forward to helping this population reach their goals, master tasks, enhance their life skills, as well as learn real life job skills and training that they can be used in their future. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns!
