Athlete of the Week
9/8 -  Week 1
Alyssa Callahan
At the beginning of last year Alyssa Callahan started the season playing a right midfield position and ended the year completely switching sides and dominating the left side of the field. This year, she is one of the strongest players on the team with her amazing stick skills and game sense making her unstoppable and a player to watch. Alyssa also scored the first goal of the season this past week against Friends Select. Congratulations Alyssa, keep up the hard work!
9/14 - Week 2
Mikaela Estepp
Mikaela Estepp has been the starting goalie for Franklin Towne since her sophomore year and has grown tremendously since the first day she tried out. Her high energy and competitiveness lend to her acrobatics on the field; diving, doing splits and sometimes full spin moves to keep the ball from going in goal. As the last line of defense she is relied on by all of her teammates and does an outstanding job saving the day nearly every time. I cannot wait to see her make the most of her high school career and I hope that she continues to play in college. Congratulations Mikaela and good luck the rest of the season!!
9/21 - Week 3
Andrea Vito
Andrea Vito began her field hockey career as a freshman and ended up being one of the starting players on the field within the first few games. She continues to be a dominant player and leader on the field as the junior captain this year. Over the past few games, Andrea has had many opportunities to show the rest of the league that she is a fierce player and has been able to carry the ball up the field and create many scoring opportunities for herself and the rest of the offensive line. Andrea is one of the most competitive players on the field this year and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for the rest of the season! Good Luck and keep up the hard work!
10/ 5 - Week 5
Rachael Hartman
Rachael began her field hockey career her freshman year and has since played almost every position on the field when needed. She started playing on the offensive line as a freshman and is ending as the heart of the defensive line. As her coach, I have enjoyed watching her grow into a player that I can rely on and one that the younger athletes can look up to. She will be hard to replace in the future years. Congratulations and best of luck with the rest of the season Rachael!
